Gogo Skyline - Customer FAQ

Q: What is Gogo Skyline?

A: Gogo Skyline is a new application, modernizing what was previously Gogo Text & Talk. It allows you to reliably make calls using your own phone and contacts in the air, and via any Gogo network. Gogo Skyline also serves as a handset device for Iridium satellite and Gogo Voice calls.

Q: When will Gogo Skyline be available?

A: This new application will be available on November 1, 2023.

Q: Will Gogo Text & Talk still be available?

A: No, Gogo Text & Talk is being updated to Gogo Skyline on November 1, 2023.

Q: What are the benefits of Gogo Skyline?

A: Some of the benefits of Gogo Skyline include:

  1. Simplified use and reliability: no need for ground registration
  2. Make a call through any bearer: Gogo's air-to-ground (ATG) networks, ST4300
  3. Make in-cabin calls to communicate with fellow passengers, cabin crew, or other designated in-flight contacts
  4. Make a call on your phone with your contacts
  5. Peace of mind knowing you can always make a call in flight

Q: Is ground registration required to make a call?

A: No, Gogo Skyline eliminates the need for ground registration. Just open the app in flight and it will automatically detect your hardware for the best call.

Q: Will Gogo Skyline work with Iridium?

A: Yes, Gogo Skyline will work with Gogo Iridium systems, including ST4200 and ST4300.

Q: Can I still use my native number for calls?

A: Yes.

Q: Will Gogo Skyline block or impact Wi-Fi calling, IM, or other functionality?

A: No, Gogo Skyline will not negatively impact Wi-Fi calling, iMessage, WhatsApp, or IM functionality.

Q: How do outbound calls function through Gogo Skyline?

A: With Gogo Skyline, you can always make an outbound call over any bearer and you can use your contacts directly from your phone. You should let your contacts know that the caller ID will show up as the aircraft phone number, which is now listed in the Skyline app when using Gogo Voice. If they miss your call, they should be able to call back using the number that shows up in the caller ID.

Q: How do I get my aircraft phone number?

A: When using Gogo Voice, the aircraft's phone number is displayed throughout the app, making it easy to share your Gogo Skyline number with contacts on the ground so they can reach you while you're in flight. If you are using Iridium or are having trouble finding your aircraft phone number, please call or email Customer Operations at +1.888.286.9876 or bacustomerservice@gogoair.com for help.

Q: What if I already have the Gogo Text & Talk application downloaded on my phone?

A: The current Gogo Text & Talk application will automatically update to Gogo Skyline on November 1, 2023. If you don't allow application auto-updates on your phone, you will be prompted to update to Gogo Skyline the next time you open the Gogo Text & Talk app.
